On Tuesday, July 30th the Summer Film Festival “Esterno Notte” – 37th edition, organized by Filmstudio 90, arrives in Ispra with the free screening of the movie “The Pioneers” by Luca Scivoletto – Italy 2022 (duration 86′).

Dramatic-Comedy with Mattia Bonaventura, Francesco Cilia, Danilo Di Vita, Matilde Sofia Fazio.
Plot: “Sicily, 1990, estate. Enrico, twelve, is the son of two politicians enrolled in the PCI and who has always
have educated him to the thought and ideals of the party. Smothered, he decides to leave and go to camping with Margherita, Renato and Vittorio, his peers, with the intent to give again life to the Pioneers, ie old scouts of the Communist mold that no longer exist long time. And to succeed Enrico, Renato, Vittorio and Margherita must remain united because if not you can go back, you can only go forward.

The screening will be held outdoors in Piazza Felice Ferrario at 9.30 pm.

The new edition started on Tuesday, June 11th and will continue until Saturday, September 7th, with many movies that will be screened, not only at the Estensi Gardens in Varese, but also in open air cinema in some of the most beautiful places in the area: Angera, Besozzo, Castiglione Olona, Cittiglio, Comerio, Curiglia, Ispra, Gornate Olona, Luino, Maccagno, Malnate, Marchirolo, Saltrio and Vedano Olona.

This year’s proposal is varied and full of events, for example: Perfect Days, Kinds of Kindness, some of the most awarded films of last season such as Poor Creatures and Anatomy of a Fall. There will be plenty of space dedicated to the best Italian films of the year such as There is still tomorrow, Io Capitano, La chimera and other titles.

There are also proposals of great cult of the past such as Buena Vista Social Club (in the not-to-be-missed restored version) and the Short night of glass dolls, in homage to the late director Aldo Lado.

Screenings are also provided for children, movies such as Garfield – a tasty mission and Mavka and the enchanted forest.
