The cycle path is a ring that surrounds Lake Varese, develops on asphalt, concrete and, for a short stretch, on well-beaten and pedaled earth. It is definitely a unique and fascinating equipped track for its suggestive views and never demanding, suitable for everyone both on foot and by bike.

Along the way you will meet places worthy of a stop: in Azzate you can admire the small sanctuary of the Madonna del Lago. In Bodio, it is possible to leave the track for a short excursion to Cazzago Brabbia, where some iceboxes and curious buildings are still perfectly preserved. circulars of the eighteenth century in which the winter ice was crammed so that, inside, the rigid temperatures necessary to preserve the fish caught in the lake throughout the year were kept constant.

In Biandronno it is possible to interrupt the journey for a visit by boat to the small Virginia, where some of the important finds from the prehistoric period from all over Europe took place, collected, in part, in the small archaeological museum of the island.

In Gavirate the cycle path is animated by bars and restaurants and equipped with numerous benches facing the shore.

At Lido della Schiranna, the lively Varese lakefront, you can stop in the greenery of the Zanzi Park, refresh yourself in the numerous bars and restaurants, visit, on the days in which it is active, the exhibition pavilion of the city and even take a dip in the swimming pool. on the lakeshore.

We suggest the use of a mountain bike or a bicycle with large section tires because the surface has irregularities. In the summer period cool hours are recommended and equip yourself to protect yourself from midges and mosquitoes. Suitable for everyone, even for families with children as it is mostly flat. You leave the track a few times on roads with little traffic and for a few meters.

In Cassinetta di Biandronno, just after the Continental Hotel and a sports field, on the right for those coming from Gavirate, there is the entrance to the cycle path that connects Lake Varese with Lake Comabbio. The connection between the two cycle paths is dirt and it is advisable to use a mountain bike or bicycles with large section covers.
