He reveals the Blue Guide 2025 of Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano that this year has organized the allocation of the Sails to the most beautiful beaches. The choice is made on the basis of criteria related to the environment and tourism sustainability.
As the VerbanoNews article explains “The judgment attributed to each location, from 5 sails assigned to the best up to 1 sail, is the result of very thorough evaluations. The parameters are divided into two main categories: environmental quality and quality of reception services. Thus, there will be naturalistic places more significant than awarded with the 5 sails, but with not excellent tourist services. Other locations can count on impeccable accommodation facilities in areas where, however, the sea or the lake and the coasts have been more compromised” In the choice were taken into account “Key requirements, defined in a European context with the contribution of the ecolabel network following the criteria of the Life “VISIT” project: land use, landscape degradation, biodiversity, waste and waste water management, the trend of anthropogenic pressure driven by tourism, traffic and policies to encourage sustainable mobility, the availability of low-impact means of transport and decarbonisation policies implemented in the territories.”
The localities of the Lombardy bank included in the TCI/Legambiente Guide are Maccagno, Ispra and Ranco with three sails.
