Summer Film Festival “Between the Mountains and the Lake 2026”
Bartali’s bicycle
On Thursday, July 10, 2026, at 9:30 pm, the Serra Hall of the Municipality of Ispra will host a screening of the animated film Bartali’s Bicycle, part of the summer film festival “Between the Mountains and the Lake 2026.”
The film tells a story of courage, friendship and hope, inspired by the figure of Gino Bartali. During World War II, the great cycling champion used his bicycle to transport false documents, helping save hundreds of Jews from Nazi-Fascist persecution in Tuscany.
Sixty years later, in Jerusalem, that same bicycle becomes the symbol of the friendship between David, a young Israeli Jewish cyclist, and Ibrahim, an Israeli Arab boy. United by their passion for cycling and their dream of becoming champions, the two learn to overcome prejudices and divisions, building a bond based on mutual respect and collaboration.
Genre: Animation
Year: 2024
Duration: 82 minutes
The screening is organized by the ACLI Club of Ispra APS, in collaboration with Film Studio 90 and the Municipality of Ispra.
